I have used this product on my pet and he/she still has fleas. Why is this?

Most of our products will take at least 24 to 48 hours to begin killing fleas that are already on the pet. In addition if the animal and/or home have a large enough infestation, it may take more than one treatment to start reducing the flea population (Do not use the product more often than recommended). Pests can infest the home and yard and wreak havoc — beginning long before fleas can be seen. Active adult fleas make up only about 5% of an infestation, for instance, meaning that 95% of fleas lurking around pets, the home and yard are pre-adult fleas prime for creating an infestation. The very best way to treat fleas and ticks is to prevent an infestation in the first place.

What are the common signs of allergic reaction to a flea and tick product?

Allergic reactions to our products are extremely rare. However, an animal can have sensitivities to ANY flea and tick product (similar to the way humans can have allergic reactions to peanuts, dairy, bee stings, etc.). Signs that would be typical of an allergic reaction could include skin sensitivity (such as redness and rash), hair loss, itchiness, lethargy and/or loss of appetite. If your pet shows signs of allergic reaction, we would recommend that you thoroughly bathe your pet with degreasing dish soap such as Dawn or Palmolive and rinse with large amounts of cool water. Symptoms should improve within a few hours to 24 hours of bathing. If symptoms continue longer or seem to be getting worse, consult your veterinarian. Vomiting, foaming at the mouth, salivating, and diarrhea are not commons signs of an allergic reaction. However this can occur if the pet has ingested some of the product. The symptoms should be mild and stop within 24-48 hours of ingestion of the product. We recommend giving a cats water and tuna juice or water, and dogs a small amount of food immediately after you see signs of ingestion.
